RESOLUTION NO. R99-1471

A resolution approving a contract by and between the Metropolitan Government and Charles U. Spurlock Disposal Company for collection of residential refuse in the urban services district.

Whereas, Section 4.12.220 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws requires that any contract for collection, hauling and disposal of solid waste be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one votes; and

Whereas, acting through the normal procurement procedure the Purchasing Agent has selected Charles U. Spurlock Disposal Company to haul and dispose of solid waste in the urban services district; and, whereas, the contract will exceed $500,000 annually.

Therefore be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Charles W. Spurlock Disposal Company for collection of residential refuse and recyclable solid waste in the urban services district for a term of five (5) years, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
