ADOPTED 03/16/1999

RESOLUTION NO. R99-1456

A resolution requesting the Interim Director of the Department of Public Works to provide numbering of traffic signalizations on major thoroughfares.

Whereas, numbering of traffic signalizations on major thoroughfares would be a location reference for the motoring public; and

Whereas, this process would also be a location reference for emergency vehicles and could reduce the response time throughout Davidson County; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council request the Department of Public Works to provide and secure the numbering of traffic signalizations throughout Davidson County.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan County Council hereby requests the Interim Director of the Department of Public Works to provide numbering of traffic signalizations on major thoroughfares.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Interim Director of the Department of Public Works.

SECTION 3. That the Department of Public Works is further requested to inform the metropolitan Council of the feasibility and/or of the actions taken in compliance with the request contained in Section 1 hereof not later than ninety-(90) days after the adoption of this Resolution.
