RESOLUTION NO. R99-1455

A resolution requesting the Interim Director of the Department of Public Works to determine the feasibility of in-house infrastructure improvements.

Whereas, infrastructure projects are coordinated through the Department of Public Works; and

Whereas, various projects are subcontracted outside of the department; and

Whereas, the restructuring of the department could possibly handle in-house infrastructure improvements and result in a cost savings to Metropolitan Government.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan County Council hereby requests the Interim Director of the Department of Public Works to determine the feasibility of in-house infrastructure improvements.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Interim Director of the Department of Public Works.

SECTION 3. That the Department of Public Works is further requested to inform the metropolitan Council of the feasibility and/or of the actions taken in compliance with the request contained in Section 1 hereof not later than ninety-(90) days after the adoption of this Resolution.

SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
