RESOLUTION NO. R99-1454

A resolution requesting the Fair Board to remove the parking charge imposed for the Flea Market at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.

WHEREAS, for the past several years the Flea Market has operated at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds on certain weekends of the month; and

WHEREAS, the Flea Market has provided a convenient and entertaining shopping venue for residents of Davidson County; and

WHEREAS, there has recently been imposed a $2.00 parking charge for such events; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Fair Board reconsider the imposition of the parking charge at this public facility.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Fair Board to remove the parking charge imposed for the Flea Market.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to each member of the Fair Board.

SECTION 3. The Fair Board is further requested to inform The Metropolitan Council of the feasibility and/or the actions taken in compliance with the request contained in Section 1 hereof, not later than sixty (60) days after the adoption of this Resolution.

SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
