RESOLUTION NO. R99-1439
A resolution recognizing Mr. Robert H. Mingle upon his retirement from service with the Metropolitan Public School System.
WHEREAS, on June 4, 1999, Mr. Robert H. Mingle will retire after completing 40 years of dedicated and faithful service at Inglewood Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, at the time of his retirement, Mr. Mingle will have served at the same school – Inglewood Elementary School – for his entire 40 years of service; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Mingle taught 5th Grade at Inglewood Elementary School during his first three years in the teaching profession, but thereafter until his retirement he has served as Principal at the school, always maintaining an open-door policy for both students and faculty; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure Mr. Mingle came to know and befriend at least three generations of students as they received their education at Inglewood Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career Mr. Mingle was known for his dedicated public service to the Metro Public School System, for being a tireless aide to the administration and to the faculty, and for being a trusted friend and confidant to parents, faculty and students; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Mingle grew up in the Inglewood Community, and attends Inglewood Baptist Church where he has taught the Junior High Boys Sunday School Class for the past 24 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Mingle has been committed to serving his students to the best of his ability and has always set a Christian example for them to follow in their lives; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Mr. Robert H. Mingle upon his retirement from service with the Metropolitan Public School System.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as honoring Mr. Robert H. Mingle upon his retirement from service following 40 years of dedicated service at Inglewood Elementary School for the Metropolitan Public School System.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a certificate to be presented to Mr. Robert H. Mingle at his final Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meeting on Thursday, April 8, 1999.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
