RESOLUTION NO. R99-1427
A resolution requesting the Animal Control facility for the Metropolitan Government to open for business on Saturdays.
WHEREAS, in order to make it more convenient for the citizens and residents of Davidson County, and to encourage adoption of animals, it is fitting and proper that the Animal Control facility be staffed for that purpose and open to the public on Saturdays; and
WHEREAS, if being open for a full day is not possible, the Health Department should consider operating at least one-half day on Saturdays; and
WHEREAS, other facilities that deal with the public that are non-business related are open to the public on Saturdays.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Animal Control facility for the Metropolitan Government to open for business on Saturdays.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Director of the Metropolitan Health Department and to the Director of the Animal Control facility.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
