RESOLUTION NO. R99-1409

A resolution authorizing an application to the Tennessee Housing and Development Agency for 1999 State HOUSE Entitlement Program funds.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County by and through the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency is eligible to apply to the Tennessee Housing and Development Agency for $637,000 in 1999 State HOUSE Program Entitlement funds in accordance with provisions of Public Chapter 900, Acts of 1988; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council by Resolution R88-242 authorized the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency to apply for such funds as they become available and to provide the required local match from the Community Development Block Grant or other funds available to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency; and

WHEREAS, 1999 State HOUSE funds will be used for eligible HOUSE Program housing improvements for qualified low income households.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby authorizes the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, on behalf of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to submit an application to the Tennessee Housing and Development Agency for $637,000 in 1999 State HOUSE Program Entitlement funds to be matched by HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds.

Section 2. The 1999 State HOUSE Program Entitlement funds will be used for eligible HOUSE Program housing improvements for qualified low income households.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
