RESOLUTION NO. R99-1392

A resolution appropriating $13,372 in Community Development Block Grant funds for the purpose of installing neighborhood watch signs and related safety and security items within the Greenwood Neighborhood Strategy Area.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is entitled to receive Community Development Block Grant funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development; and

WHEREAS, the application for the 21st Year of the Community Development Block Grant Program has been approved by Ordinance No. O94-1257, including funds for the Greenwood Neighborhood Strategy Area (NSA); and

WHEREAS, the installation of neighborhood watch signs and related safety and security items will be a continuation of efforts by the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency to revitalize the Greenwood NSA; and

WHEREAS, the residents of the Greenwood NSA have requested use of the remaining CDBG funds allocated to their area for such activities.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That $13,372 in Community Development Block Grant funds be appropriated to install neighborhood watch signs and related safety and security items in the Greenwood Neighborhood Strategy Area.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee requiring it.
