 RESOLUTION NO. R99-1383

A resolution electing one member to the board of directors of the Industrial Development Board of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

 WHEREAS, the Metropolitan County Council has, pursuant to Chapter 53 of Title 7 of the Tennessee Code Annotated, as amended, duly authorized and approved the establishment of The Industrial Development Board of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County; and

WHEREAS, T.C. A., § 7-53-301, as amended, provides that all members of the Board of Directors shall be elected by the governing body of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County; and

WHEREAS, due to the death of one member of said Board of Directors, J. Michael Jacobs, it is necessary that the remainder of this term be filled by election of the Metropolitan County Council; and

WHEREAS, Hal Rosson, Jr., has been nominated by George Armistead; and

WHEREAS, an election has been conducted pursuant to the Rules of Procedure of the Metropolitan County Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County on January 5, 1999, resulting in the election of Hal Rosson, Jr., to said position.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. Hal Rosson, Jr., who is an elector of and taxpayer in the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and who is not an officer of or employed by the Metropolitan Government, is hereby elected a director of the Industrial Development Board of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to fill the unexpired term created by the death of J. Michael Jacobs ending August 23, 2001; provided, however, that if at the expiration of said term of office of Hal Rosson, Jr., a successor thereto shall not have been elected, then such person whose term has so expired shall nevertheless continue to hold office until a successor shall be so elected.

SECTION 2. All Resolutions, or parts thereof, in conflict with the provisions of this Resolution are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.

SECTION 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
