RESOLUTION NO. R99-1375

A resolution recognizing all Veterans Service Organizations for their outstanding contributions to Nashville and Davidson County, and requesting the Metropolitan Fair Board to provide a booth at the annual Tennessee State Fair at no charge for use by all Veterans Service Organizations to promote the various Veterans activities and services.

WHEREAS, the various Veterans Service Organizations are widely known throughout the area of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County as being actively and wholeheartedly involved in community affairs and for their continuing support of activities and services provided to all Veterans; and

WHEREAS, Veterans Service Organizations are staffed by Veterans and other volunteers who are committed to the welfare of all Veterans who have bravely and unselfishly served our country; and

WHEREAS, in an effort to promote the work of Veterans Service Organizations, it would be appropriate that all such organizations in the Nashville and Davidson County area be provided a booth during the annual Tennessee State Fair at no charge to the organization to be used for the purpose of promoting the betterment of the various Veterans groups and their involvement in Veterans affairs and in the community as a whole; and

WHEREAS, further, such booths could be used to promote the various Veterans activities and services provided to all Veterans; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that Veterans Service Organizations be recognized for their services to the community, and that the Metropolitan Fair Board provide a booth at no charge during the annual Tennessee State Fair to be used for such activities.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as recognizing all Veterans Service Organizations for their outstanding service to Nashville and Davidson County.

Further, the Metropolitan Fair Board is hereby requested to provide a booth during the annual Tennessee State Fair at no charge to the organization to be used for the purpose of promoting the betterment of the various Veterans groups and their involvement in Veterans affairs and in the community as a whole

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to each member of the Metropolitan Fair Board.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
