RESOLUTION NO. R98-1359

A resolution approving a grant of $75,000 from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting by and through the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency for participation in the Disaster Housing Recovery Program.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting by and through the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency has been awarded a grant by the Tennessee Housing Development Agency; and

WHEREAS, the $75,000 grant allows for the participation in THDA's Disaster Housing Recovery Program to rehabilitate eligible tornado damaged housing utilizing the state's guidelines; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency will administer the grant and implement the program.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1: That the grant by and between the Tennessee Housing Development Agency and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County by and through the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency for participation in the Disaster Housing Recovery Program for housing rehabilitation purposes in an amount not to exceed $75,000 and for a term commencing on December 1, 1998 and extending through May 31, 2000, which grant is made a part of this resolution by reference, be and hereby is approved.

Section 2: That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
