RESOLUTION NO. R98-1348

A resolution authorizing the acceptance of a proposal to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, relating to the right-of-way acquisition and construction of Project No. 19057-2216-54, improvements at State Route 254 (Old Hickory Boulevard) and Granny White Pike.

WHEREAS, the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) provides for a congested intersection project for the Metropolitan Nashville Area with Congestion Mitigation Air Quality Funds and Federal-Aid Urban System funds: and

WHEREAS, The Department of Transportation of the State of Tennessee, hereinafter called "Department" has tentatively allocated certain funds for the construction of a Federal-Aid Urban System project in the area of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, hereinafter called "Local Government" known and described as follows:

Improvements at State Route 254

(Old Hickory Blvd.) and Granny White Pike

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 76-242 authorizes the Metropolitan Mayor to execute Agreements necessary to implement the Federal-Aid System projects; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 76-242 also requires that the Federal-Aid System contract be ratified by Resolution of the Metropolitan Government

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RATIFIED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1: The Contract submitted by the Department of Transportation of the State of Tennessee to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to construct in the area of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County Project No. Project No. 19057-2216-54, Improvements at State Route 254 (Old Hickory Blvd.) and Granny White Pike, is hereby ratified by the adoption of this Resolution.

SECTION 2: The proposal is hereby incorporated and made a part of this Resolution, the same as though copied herein.

SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
