RESOLUTION NO. R98-1343

A resolution approving an amendment to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Human Services, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Juvenile Court for the provision of Title IV-D child support services to increase the amount of the grant to $469,509.00.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, has awarded a grant for fiscal year 1998-99 in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Sixty-Two, Nine Hundred Fifty-Five Thousand dollars ($162,955.00) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Juvenile Court for the provision of Title IV-D child support services; and,

WHEREAS, this grant was approved by the Metropolitan Council by Ordinance 98-1304; and,

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, has amended its grant by increasing the amount of the grant to Four Hundred Sixty-nine Thousand Five Hundred Nine Dollars; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through Juvenile Court, approved by Ordinance 98-1304 be amended by deleting paragraph C.1 in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following language:

C.1. Maximum Liability. In no event shall the maximum liability of the state under this Grant exceed Four Hundred Sixty-nine Thousand Five Hundred Nine Dollars ($469,509.00). This amount and the Grant Budget attached and incorporated herein as a part of this Grant as Attachment I shall constitute the maximum amount due the Grantee for the service and all of the Grantee’s obligations hereunder. The Grant Budget line itmes include, but are not limited to, all applicable taxes, fees, overhead, and all other direct and indirect costs incurred or to be incurred by the Grantee.

A copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. The increased amount of the grant requires that the Metropolitan Government increase its matching funds to Two Hundred Thousand Forty-one Eight Hundred Sixty-eight Dollars ($241,868.00).

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
