A resolution honoring Mr. Llewellyn St. Aubyn Adrian Peter, Choral Music Director, and the Maplewood Comprehensive High School Concert Choir.

WHEREAS, Mr. Llewellyn St. Aubyn Adrian Peter is a native of Trinidad, West Indies; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Peter commenced formal training on the age of three; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Peter received his B. S. degree in Music and Piano Performance from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York, along with a Certificate in Piano Pedagogy from the International Piano Foundation; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Peter further received a MSEd. Degree in Music Education from Nazareth College of Rochester; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Peter is certified as a Music Specialist K-12, and has taught in the elementary school setting for five years in the Rochester City School District before relocating to Nashville, Tennessee; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Peter has been accepted to Trevecca Nazarene University to pursue a Certificate in Advance Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership; and

WHEREAS, the Maplewood Comprehensive High School Concert Chorus and Llewellyn St. Aubyn Adrian Peter is under the auspices of the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools; and

WHEREAS, the chorus is comprised of approximately 35 students from different socioeconomic backgrounds; and

WHEREAS, the chorus sings music from different genres such as classical, jazz, pop and gospel; and

WHEREAS, under the leadership the chorus has performed at numerous engagements to great acclaim; and

WHEREAS, the chorus was invited and sponsored to go to Rochester, New York to sing for the National Coalition Title 1/Chapter 23 rd Annual Parents Inservice Workshop Conference, the National Urban League Southern Regional Assembly and the Baccalaureate Service of Fisk University; and

WHEREAS, this year the chorus will be in the Broadway production of "The Wiz", singing with Dr. Bobby Jones and New Life and the Nashville Super Choir, and many other performances; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council go on record as honoring Mr. Llewellyn St. Aubyn Adrian Peter and the Maplewood Comphrensive High School Concert Chorus for their outstanding accomplishments.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as honoring Mr. Llewellyn St. Aubyn Adrian Peter and the Maplewood Comphrensive High School Concert Chorus.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff is requested to prepare certificates to be presented to Mr. Llewellyn St. Aubyn Adrian Peter and the Maplewood Comprehensive High School Concert Chorus.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
