RESOLUTION NO. R98-1321

 A RESOLUTION HONORING THE 1998 DAVIDSON ACADEMY GIRLS CLASS A-AA GOLF TEAM.

 WHEREAS, the Davidson Academy Girls Class A-AA Golf Team compiled an outstanding record during the 1998 season, which culminated with the team winning the TSSAA Class A-AA State Golf Championship; and

WHEREAS, the team was coached by Lori Nappier and members of this talented team are Samantha Fox, Laura Covington, and Sara Jacobs; and

WHEREAS, Laura Covington finished 3rd in the District, 4th in the Region, 6th in the State, and was named First Team All State; and

WHEREAS, Samantha Fox tied first place in the District, 1st place in the Region, 2nd place in the State, and was named First Team All State; and

WHEREAS, Sara Jacobs tied 1st place in the District, 2nd place in the Region, 1st

place in the State, and was named First Team All-State; and

WHEREAS, by their performance the players and coaches have brought recognition to the Metropolitan Government area for not only their athletic abilities, but for their team play, their sportsmanship, and their dedication; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council honor the Davidson Academy Girls Golf Team on winning the TSSAA Class A-AA State Golf Championship.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as honoring the Davidson Academy Golf Team for winning the 1998 TSSAA Class A-AA State Golf Championship.

SECTION 2. That the Metropolitan Council Staff Office is hereby directed to prepare certificates to be presented to the coach, and to each member of the team.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
