Resolution No. R98-1311

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council by Ordinance O97-730 approved a grant agreement between the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation in an amount not to exceed $300,000 to provide assistance in developing a permanent site for the collection of household hazardous waste; and

WHEREAS, said agreement required the Metropolitan Government to complete purchase of all equipment and to complete construction of the building(s) to be utilized at the permanent site by November 1, 1998, and to have the site open and operating by December 31, 1998; and

WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the grant agreement to provide for completion of equipment purchases and building construction by April 30, 1999, and to provide for opening of the facility by June 30, 1999; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. O97-730 provided that amendments to the grant agreement should be approved by Resolution of the Metropolitan Council

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1: That the amendment to the grant agreement between the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation an Metropolitan Government for household hazardous waste attached hereto is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment to the grant agreement.

SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
