RESOLUTION NO. R98-1308
A resolution appropriating $110,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds for the purpose of constructing a mini-park and installing neighborhood watch signs within the Hope Gardens Bicentennial Neighborhood.
WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is entitled to receive Community Development Block Grant funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development; and
WHEREAS, the application for the 24th Year of the Community Development Block Grant Program has been approved by Ordinance No. O97-995; and,
WHEREAS, the construction of the mini-park and the installation of neighborhood watch signs is a continuation of efforts by the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency to revitalize the Hope Gardens Bicentennial Neighborhood, building on several other revitalization projects that most recently included the installation of new sidewalks and the construction of new single family homes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That $110,000 be appropriated to construct a mini-park and install neighborhood watch signs.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee requiring it.
