A resolution appropriating fourty thousand dollars ($40,000) from a special fund established pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated § 8-21-1001 for computerization of the office of the Register of Deeds of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County.

WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated § 8-21-1001 was amended by Chapter 870 of the Public Acts of 1998 to authorize the Register to collect a $2 fee for the filing and recording of certain instruments to be used for the purchase of computer equipment and software, upgrades to computer equipment and software, and supplies, maintenance and services relating to computer equipment and software; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council desires to appropriate Thirty Thousand Dollars ($40,000) from this fund to the Register of Deeds for computer purchases.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1: That the sum of Thirty Thousand Dollars ($40,000) is hereby appropriated from Fund 30004 Registers- Computer Program, Account No. 407659 to be used for the purchase of computer equipment and software, upgrades to computer equipment and software, and supplies, maintenance and services relating to computer equipment and software.

Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
