A resolution approving an amendment to a grant in the amount from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting through the Emergency Management Office, to subsidize emergency management.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, has awarded Grant No. Z-98-086853-00 to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the office of emergency management, for the provision of pass through funding to subsidize emergency management and such grant was approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance (Bill No. 098-1209); and

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee wishes to increase the grant amount by ten thousand seventy five dollars ($10,075) making the grant award total sixty-five thousand seventy five dollars ($65,075); and

WHEREAS, Bill No. 098-1209 provided that amendments to the Grant may be approved by resolution by the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty one affirmative votes; and

WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of The Metropolitan Government that this amendment to the contract be approved.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson county:

Section 1. That the amendment to Grant No. Z-98-086853-00 to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the office of emergency management, for the provision of pass through funding to subsidize emergency management, which amendment increases the grant amount by ten thousand seventy five dollars ($10,075) making the grant award total sixty-five thousand seventy five dollars ($65,075), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
