A resolution appropriating $310,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds for improvements to McFerrin Park and for renovations to a building at 610 North Third Street for use as a Social Services office in the McFerrin Park Neighborhood Strategy Area.

WHEREAS, applications for the twenty-first, twenty-second, twenty-third and twenty-fourth years of the Community Development Block Grant program were approved by the Metropolitan Council through Ordinance Nos. O94-1257, 095-77, 096-541 and 097-995; and

WHEREAS, the applications for the twenty-first, twenty-second, twenty-third and twenty-fourth years included funds allocated to the McFerrin Park Neighborhood Strategy Area; and

WHEREAS, a portion of these funds in the amount of $260,000 has been recommended by the Citizen Advisory Committee to be used for improvements to McFerrin Park; and

WHEREAS, a portion of these funds in the amount of $50,000 has been recommended by the Citizen Advisory Committee to be used to renovate a building at 610 North Third Street for use as a Social Services office.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That $260,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds allocated to the McFerrin Park Neighborhood Strategy Area be appropriated for improvements to McFerrin Park.

SECTION 2. That $50,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds allocated to the McFerrin Park Neighborhood Strategy Area be appropriated to renovate a building at 610 North Third Street for use as a Social Services office.

SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
