RESOLUTION NO. R98-1259

A resolution approving an amendment to a public health training affiliation agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting through the Metropolitan Board of Health and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health has entered into a public health training affiliation agreement with Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and that agreement was approved by a resolution of the Metropolitan Council (R97-965); and

WHEREAS, the parties by mutual agreement, wish to amend the agreement by deleting the term provision and replacing it with a new term provision that extends the agreement through July 20, 1999 with the option to renew for three additional twelve month terms; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment to the agreement be approved.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

SECTION 1: That the amendment to the agreement entered into by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine for public health training, which amendment extends the agreement through July 20, 1999 with the option to renew for three additional twelve month terms, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

SECTION 2: That this resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
