RESOLUTION NO. R98-1226

A RESOLUTION APPROVING A GRANT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $3,397,924, FROM THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, TO THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT, THROUGH THE METROPOLITAN HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR THE PROVISION OF HEALTH SERVICES INCLUDING ADOLESCENT PREGNANCY INITIATIVE, CHILDREN'S SPECIAL SERVICES, TUBERCULOSIS SERVICES, RENAL INTERVENTION, ORAL HEALTH, LEAD POISONING, COMMUNITY PREVENTION INITIATIVE, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES, GRANT-IN-AID AND FAMILIES FIRST, AND OTHERS.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County through the Metropolitan Health Department for the provision of health services adolescent pregnancy initiative, children’s special services, tuberculosis services, renal intervention, oral health, lead poisoning, community prevention initiative, community development services, grant-in-aid and families first, and others, in an amount not to exceed $3,397,924, with an in-kind local match of benefits and administration services not to exceed $348,606, and for a term commencing on July 1, 1998, and extending through June 30, 1999, which grant is attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution, be and the same is approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
