RESOLUTION NO. R98-1201

A RESOLUTION RATIFYING A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR GEOLOGICAL SURVEY FOR A PROGRAM OF WATER RESOURCES INVESTIGATION.

WHEREAS, the United States Department of Interior Geological Survey has tentatively allocated certain funds for a program of water resources investigation in the area of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson; and,

WHEREAS, the Cooperative Program of Water Resources Investigation requires that the United States Department of Interior Geological Survey and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County each provide fifty percent (50%) of the cost; and,

WHEREAS, Section 2 of Ordinance No. 090-1384 authorizes the Metropolitan County Mayor to execute future agreements for the implementation and completion of this project, which agreements shall become binding on the Metropolitan Government upon ratification by Resolution of the Metropolitan County Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Agreement for (the Cooperative Program of) Water Resources Investigation between the United States Department of Interior Geological Survey and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, which Agreement is attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution, be and the same is hereby approved and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute said Agreement.

SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
