RESOLUTION NO. R98-1197

A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING $ 90,000 IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS ALLOCATED TO THE WHARTON NEIGHBORHOOD STRATEGY AREA FOR A DEMONSTRATION BLOCK PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, applications for the twentieth, twenty-first, twenty-second and twenty-third years of the Community Development Block Grant program were approved by the Metropolitan Council through Ordinance Nos. O93-862, O94-1257, 095-77, 096-541.

WHEREAS, the applications for the twentieth, twenty-first, twenty-second and twenty-third years included funds allocated to the Wharton Neighborhood Strategy Area; and

WHEREAS, a portion of these funds in the amount of $90,000 has been recommended by the Wharton Citizen Advisory Committee to be used for a Demonstration Block Program to make exterior improvements to residences along portions of 10th Avenue North and Arthur Avenue within the Wharton Neighborhood Strategy Area.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That $90,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds allocated to the Wharton Neighborhood Strategy Area are hereby appropriated for a Demonstration Block Program.

SECTION 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
