RESOLUTION NO. R98-1171
A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING $10,000.00 TO THE NASHVILLE BALLET, A NONPROFIT CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION, FROM THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY BY AND THROUGH THE METROPOLITAN NASHVILLE ARTS COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, Section 6-54-111 of the Tennessee Code Annotated affords the Metropolitan Government the authority to appropriate funds to a nonprofit charitable organization; and,
WHEREAS, the tornado of April 16, 1998 forced the temporary closure of the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, requiring the cancellation of four performances of the Nashville Ballet.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $10,000.00 from the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission Account Number 101-543.012 to the Nashville Ballet, a nonprofit charitable organization.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
