RESOLUTION NO. R98-1160

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PERSONAL PROPERTY HAVING A FAIR MARKET VALUE AS DETERMINED BY THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC PROPERTY ADMINISTRATION OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS OR MORE AND PURCHASED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT AT A COST OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS OR MORE.

WHEREAS, Metropolitan County Council Substitute Ordinance No. O90-1116 provides, among other things, that "no surplus personal property (a) having a fair market value, as determined by the Director of Public Property Administration or the Metropolitan Board of Education of five thousand dollars ($5,000) or more and (b) purchased by the Metropolitan Government at a cost of five thousand dollars ($5,000) or more, shall be sold or disposed of without the approval by Resolution of the Metropolitan Council," and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Property Administration desires to sell certain surplus personal property (a) having a fair market value determined by him of five thousand dollars ($5,000) or more or (b) purchased by the Metropolitan Government at a cost of ($5,000) or more, said surplus personal property being listed on the attachment hereto, and

WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to approve the sale of said surplus personal property in accordance with established rules and regulations relating to surplus property disposition.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1: That the sale of surplus personal property listed on the attachment hereto by the Director of Public Property Administration in accordance with established rules and regulations relating to surplus property disposition is approved.

SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect from and after adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
