A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION OF
BOOKLETS FROM BRINKS HOME SECURITY, INC. TO THE METROPOLITAN POLICE
DEPARTMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PUBLIC EDUCATION IN CRIME PREVENTION
AND FUNCTIONS OF METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT CRIME PREVENTION
DIVISION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $10,000.
WHEREAS,
the Metropolitan Police
Department has a need to educate the public concerning crime prevention
and the functions of the Metropolitan Police Department Crime
Prevention Division; and,
WHEREAS,
Brinks Home Security, Inc. has
offered to donate crime prevention booklets to the Metropolitan
Police Department in a number not to exceed fifteen thousand (15,000)
and at a cost not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000); and,
WHEREAS,
it is deemed to be in the best
interest of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson
County and its citizens to accept the donation from Brinks Home
Security, Inc. for purpose distribution of these booklets for
the purpose of public education; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL
OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The donation
of crime prevention booklets in a number not to exceed 15,000
and at a cost not to exceed $10,000, is hereby accepted from Brinks
Home Security, Inc. for distribution to the public.
Section 2.
That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption,
the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson
County requiring it.
