A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO A GRANT BETWEEN THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY ACTING THROUGH THE METROPOLITAN GENERAL SESSION
COURT AND THE GUEST HOUSE
WHEREAS,
the Metropolitan Government
of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan
General Sessions Court, awarded a grant to the Guest House, to
provide a portion of the salary for an Alcohol and Drug Counselor,
and such grant was approved and accepted
by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance (Bill No. 096-291); and
WHEREAS,
the grant term is for a period
of twelve (12) months, commencing on July 1, 1996 and ending on
June 30, 1997.
WHEREAS,
the parties, by mutual agreement,
wish to amend the contract by extending the term of the grant
period to June 30, 1998 with an option to renew for three (3)
additional terms of twelve (12) months each, not to exceed a total
of sixty (60) months; and
WHEREAS,
Bill No. 096-291 provided that amendments to the Grant
may be approved by Resolution by the Metropolitan Council;
WHEREAS,
it is deemed to be in the best
interest of The Metropolitan Government that this amendment to
the contract be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON
COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Amendment
to the grant between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville
and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan General Sessions
Court to the Guest House, which amendment extends the grant term
to June 30, 1998 with an option to renew for three (3) additional
terms of twelve (12) months each, not to exceed a total of sixty
(60) months, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated
herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized
to execute the same.
Section 2. That this Resolution
shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare
of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County
requiring it.
