ORDINANCE NO. BL2017-741

An ordinance amending Section 13.40.040 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws requiring notice of parking fees, fines and penalties to be posted at parking lots and garages.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Section 13.40.040 of the Metropolitan Code is hereby amended by deleting subsection G. in its entirety and substituting with the following new subsection G.:

G. All parking lots and parking garages open to the public for which a parking fee is charged shall display a sign at the entrance of the parking lot or garage indicating the fee to be charged, as well as the amount of any fines or penalties that may be charged. The sign indicating the fee, fine and/or penalty to be charged shall be of adequate size and design to be clearly visible and legible to the motoring public.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO
ORDINANCE NO. BL2017-741

Mr. President –

I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2017-741 as follows:

I. By amending Section 1 by deleting subsection G. in its entirety and substituting the following in lieu thereof:

G. All parking lots and parking garages open to the public for which a parking fee is charged shall display a sign at the entrance of the parking lot or garage or at each automatic pre-payment station indicating the fee to be charged, as well as the amount of any fines or penalties that may be charged. The sign indicating the fee, fine and/or penalty to be charged shall be of adequate size and design to be clearly visible and legible to the motoring public.

II. By amending Section 2 by deleting it in its entirety and substituting the following in lieu thereof:

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after sixty (60) days following its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
