ORDINANCE NO. BL2017-709

An ordinance approving a contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Public Works, and the Nashville Downtown Partnership, for the management of public parking facilities of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (“Metro”) owns certain parking facilities in the downtown Nashville area; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the contract (the “Contract”) attached hereto as Exhibit A, and incorporated herein by reference, Metro proposes to engage the Nashville Downtown Partnership to operate and manage the parking facilities therein described; and,

WHEREAS, approval of the Contract is in the best interest of the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Contract between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Public Works, and the Nashville Downtown Partnership (Exhibit A) is hereby approved and the Director of Public Works or his designee is authorized to execute the Contract.

Section 2. Any amendment to the Contract may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least 21 affirmative votes.

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after is final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
