ORDINANCE NO. BL2016-456

An ordinance authorizing the acceptance of certain property known as Map 105-09 Parcel 286 from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Proposal No. 2016M-029PR-001).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency owns a tract or parcel of land located at 0-Wedgewood Avenue, also known as Davidson County Tax Map 105-09 Parcel 286 (the “Property”); and,

WHEREAS the Property adjoins property owned by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County located at 1440 12th Avenue South and 1500 12th Avenue South, also known as Davidson County Tax Map 105-09 Parcel 118 and Tax Map 105-05 Parcel 550 that have been identified as suitable for development of affordable and work force housing; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council affirmed the need for affordable and work force housing by enacting Ordinance BL2015-1139; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to accept the transfer of said Property from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, to effectuate the redevelopment of the Property.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Director of Public Property, or his designee, is authorized to accept from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency the real property located at 0-Wedgewood Avenue, also known as Tax Map 105-09 Parcel 286, and as further described in Exhibit A hereto.

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
