ORDINANCE NO. BL2016-311

An ordinance amending Ordinance No. O92-415, pertaining to the creation and membership of the Justice Information System of the Metropolitan Government.

WHEREAS, under Ordinance No. O92-415, the Justice Information System of the Metropolitan Government was created to improve the administration of justice through the creation and operation of comprehensive integrated management information systems; and,

WHEREAS, the “Justice Information System” is now commonly referred to as “Justice Integration Services” (“JIS”); and,

WHEREAS, Section 3 of the Ordinance delineated certain elected and appointed officials who were eligible for membership in the JIS; and,

WHEREAS, there are additional Metropolitan Government officials and offices that would benefit from membership in the JIS.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1: That the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County does hereby amend Ordinance No. O92-415, by changing the name “Justice Information System” to “Justice Integration Services” throughout the Ordinance.

Section 2: That the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County does hereby amend Ordinance No. O92-415, by deleting Section 3 of the Ordinance in its entirety and replacing Section 3 as follows:

“Membership. Those eligible for membership in JIS are all Metropolitan Government elected and/or appointed Officials, Departments, and/or Agencies involved in the administration of Justice, including, but not limited to the following: Chancery Court Judges, Circuit Court Clerk, Circuit Court Judges, Clerk and Master, Criminal Court Clerk, Criminal Court Judges, District Attorney General, Juvenile Court Clerk, Juvenile Court Judge, Metropolitan General Sessions Court Judges, Probate Court Judge, Public Defender, Police Department, Sheriff, Criminal Justice Planning Unit, and Office of Family Safety.”

Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring.
