ORDINANCE NO. BL2016-244

An ordinance authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to enter into an agreement with the Trust for Public Land to implement the Nashville Climate Smart Cities Program (“the Program”) to assist Nashville with the development of climate-smart green infrastructure.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government proposes to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with the Trust for Public Land to develop a Climate-Smart Cities Decision Support Tool for Nashville to integrate spatial data from its many significant green infrastructure planning efforts, such as Nashville Next, the Nashville Green Infrastructure Plan, completed greenway plans, and the emerging Parks Master Plan.

WHEREAS, it is the intent of the MOU attached hereto, that the Metropolitan Government and the Trust for Public Land shall collaborate on all aspects of the Program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this MOU be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Memorandum of Understanding by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Trust for Public Land, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the Metropolitan Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said Memorandum of Understanding.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
