ORDINANCE NO. BL2016-242

An ordinance granting the Purchasing Agent and Information Technology Services the authority to extend a contract with Presidio Networked Solutions, Inc. for up to an additional two years.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (“Metro”) entered into a contract with Presidio Networked Solutions, Inc. (“Presidio”) to provide network and security equipment, software, management tools and support services on February 14, 2011; and,

WHEREAS, Section 4.12.060(A) of the Metropolitan Code of Laws limits the term of contracts for services to sixty (60) months, unless otherwise authorized by the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, due to critical, high-profile projects currently pending with Presidio, Information Technology Services has recommended that the contract be extended for up to an additional two (2) years; and,

WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the Metro to have the option to extend the contract for up to an additional two (2) years to ensure that said projects reach completion without interruption.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Purchasing Agent and Information Technology Services are hereby authorized to extend the contract with Presidio for up to two (2) additional years, through calendar year 2018, if such extension is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government.

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
