ORDINANCE NO. BL2015-66

An ordinance approving a License Agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the State of Tennessee, acting through its Commissioner of Transportation, authorizing the installation and operation of the Cayce Landing Riverfront Park Project on a portion of certain property owned by the State of Tennessee, lying beneath the I-24 bridge on the South margin of Davidson Street. (Proposal No. 2015M-037PR-001).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the State of Tennessee desire to enter into the License Agreement attached hereto, pertaining to certain property (“Property”) owned by the State of Tennessee, lying beneath the I-24 bridge on the South margin of Davidson Street; and,

WHEREAS, the License Agreement provides for the installation and operation of the Cayce Landing Riverfront Park Project, which was included in the Nashville Riverfront Development Project plans; and,

WHEREAS, approval of the License Agreement and authorizing the installation and operation of said Cayce Landing Riverfront Park Project is in the best interest of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

Section 1. The License Agreement attached hereto, between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the State of Tennessee granting the Metropolitan Government a license to install and operate the Cayce Landing Riverfront Park Project on a portion of certain property owned by the State of Tennessee, lying beneath the I-24 bridge on the South margin of Davidson Street, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
