ORDINANCE NO. BL2015-1015

An ordinance amending Section 16.24.340 of the Metropolitan Code pertaining to the posting of street address numbers on residential mailboxes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. Section 16.24.340 of the Metropolitan Code is hereby amended by deleting subsection C.1. in its entirety and substituting with the following new subsection C.1.:

“1. Residences are to have their numbers displayed on a contrasting background and in a position to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road fronting the property. The numbers may be attached to the residence or attached to the mailbox, provided the mailbox is next to the street.”

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
