ORDINANCE NO. BL2014-957

An ordinance authorizing the Director of Public Property, or his designee, to accept and record the attached quitclaim deed from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency conveying to The Metropolitan Government a tract of land located at the southeast quadrant of the intersection of Korean Veterans Boulevard and 1st Avenue South (or Hermitage Avenue) (Proposal No. 2014M-023PR-001).

Whereas, pursuant to the terms of the quitclaim deed attached as Exhibit A to this ordinance, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency has agreed to transfer to the Metropolitan Government all the interest it may possess in a parcel of property located at the southeast quadrant of the intersection of Korean Veterans Boulevard and 1st Avenue South (or Hermitage Avenue), as is more particularly shown in Exhibit A, hereto (the Property); and,

Whereas, the Property is required by the Metropolitan Government as a right of way acquisition needed for a public project; and,

Whereas, the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County will benefit through the actions contemplated herein.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Director of Public Property, or his designee, is authorized to accept and record the quitclaim deed attached hereto as Exhibit A, conveying such interest as the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency may have in the area described therein.

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
