ORDINANCE NO. BL2014-846
An Ordinance amending Chapter 2.224 of the Metropolitan Code pertaining to the administration of the Community Garden Grant Program.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. BL2013-498 created Chapter 2.224 of the Metropolitan Code to establish a Community Garden Grant Program to be administered by the Davidson County Agricultural Extension Service; and
WHEREAS, Substitute Ordinance No. BL2014-774, the operating budget ordinance for fiscal year 2014-2015, included a $25,000 appropriation for a Community Garden Grant program to be administered by the Parks and Recreation Department instead of the Agricultural Extension Service; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that Chapter 2.224 of the Metropolitan Code be amended to reflect that the Community Garden Grant program is now being administered by the Parks and Recreation Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. Chapter 2.224 of the Metropolitan Code is hereby amended as follows:
1. By amending Sections 2.224.020 and 2.224.050 by deleting the phrase “agricultural extension service” and substituting with the phrase “parks and recreation department”.
2. By amending subsection A. of Section 2.224.040 by deleting the phrase “agricultural extension service” and substituting with the phrase “parks and recreation department”.
3. By amending subsection B. of Section 2.224.040 by deleting the phrase “agricultural extension service county director or his designee” and substituting with the phrase “parks director or his designee”.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
