ORDINANCE NO. BL2014-716

An ordinance authorizing the Director of Public Property, or his designee, to accept and record the attached quitclaim deed from the Metropolitan Transit Authority conveying to The Metropolitan Government any remaining interest it may still have in a certain parcel of property located within the old Thermal Transfer property site (Proposal No. 2014M-008PR-001).

Whereas, pursuant to the terms of the quitclaim deed attached as Exhibit A to this ordinance, the Metropolitan Transit Authority has agreed to transfer to the Metropolitan Government all the interest it may possess in a parcel of property located on the old Thermal Transfer property site, as is more particularly shown in Exhibit B, hereto (the Property); and,

Whereas, the acquisition of the Property is required by the Metropolitan Government to clarify any issues of title or ownership of the property in question in anticipation of development thereof; and,

Whereas, the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County will benefit through the actions contemplated herein.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Director of Public Property, or his designee, is authorized to accept and record the quitclaim deed attached hereto as Exhibit A, conveying such interest as the Metropolitan Transit Authority may have in the area described in Exhibit B, hereto.

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
