ORDINANCE NO. BL2013-424

An ordinance approving a lease between the Metropolitan Government, by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, and the State of Tennessee on behalf of Nashville State Community College (Proposal No. 2013M-012PR-001).

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee owns certain real property located at 5248 Hickory Hollow Parkway, Nashville, Tennessee, 37013, and the Metropolitan Government, by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (“MNPS”), has negotiated the attached lease for MNPS to use a portion of the property for educational purposes; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools have determined that the aforesaid property is acceptable and sufficient to its need to provide educational classroom and support space for the Academy at Hickory Hollow, a High School for 12th grade students; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Property Administration is authorized to lease real property, subject to the approval of the Metropolitan County Council and Mayor.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

Section 1. The lease by and between Nashville State Community College and the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools for the use of approximately 6,596 sq. ft. of space, for a term beginning on or about March 1, 2013 and ending on or about March 1, 2017, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, and the same is hereby approved.

Section 2. That any amendments to this lease shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
