ORDINANCE NO. BL2013-338

An ordinance amending Chapter 4.12 of the Metropolitan Code to require certain sole source contracts to be approved by a resolution adopted by the Metropolitan Council.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. Section 4.12.060 of the Metropolitan Code is hereby amended by adding the following provision at the end thereof:

““Notwithstanding the foregoing, no sole source contract for the purchase of goods or services, including contracts for economic development initiatives and services, with a total contract amount in excess of two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) may be entered into unless and until such contract has been approved by resolution duly adopted by the council by twenty-one affirmative votes.”

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Madam President:

I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2013-338 by deleting the phrase “including contracts for economic development initiatives and services”, wherein it appears in Section 1, and substituting with the phrase “excluding contracts for economic development initiatives and services”.
