ORDINANCE NO. BL2012-214

An Ordinance amending Chapter 5.04 of the Metropolitan Code to limit the Metropolitan Government’s contribution to the Partnership 2020 program.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Section 5.04.070 of the Code of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County shall be amended by adding the following new subsection E.:

“E. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the metropolitan government’s annual contribution to the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce for the Partnership 2020 economic development initiative shall not be more than twice the collective amount contributed for the Partnership 2020 program during the previous fiscal year by all other governmental entities. The director of finance shall obtain written confirmation from the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce regarding the collective amount contributed by all other governmental entities for the Partnership 2020 program during the previous fiscal year prior to the disbursement of any metropolitan government funds for the program. This subsection shall not be deemed to obligate the metropolitan government to make any contribution to the Partnership 2020 program.”

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
