ORDINANCE NO. BL2012-189

An ordinance approving an agreement by and between the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission and Fifth Third Bank concerning sponsorship of Artober Nashville.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission is a department of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, which exists to provide leadership that stimulates and advances the arts to enrich the human experience for the community;

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission coordinates and promotes Artober Nashville which is a month of two to six hundred or more art and cultural activities intended to inform and inspire the community’s awareness of and participation in the arts and culture;

WHEREAS, Fifth Third Bank desires to become an advertiser with, and sponsor of, Artober Nashville to build brand awareness and develop a consideration for business through marketing benefits such as advertisement, interactive dialogue in the community, media coverage and sponsorship; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the agreement be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Sponsorship Agreement between the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission and Fifth Third Bank is hereby approved, and the Executive Director of the Arts Commission is authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the Metropolitan Government.

Section 2. Should both parties agree to extend the sponsorship agreement, the Arts Commission is authorized to extend the agreement to 2013 and/or 2014.

Section 3. That any further amendments to this agreement or legislation may be processed by resolution.

Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
