ORDINANCE NO. BL2012-145

An ordinance approving a lease agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and G4S YOUTH SERVICES, LLC, for space in the building formerly known as the DCSO Re-Entry Center located at 5131 Harding Place (Proposal No. 2012M-008PR-001).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County owns a building formerly known as the DCSO Offender Re-Entry Center (“ORC”) Building located at 5131 Harding Place, Nashville; and,

WHEREAS, the building contains 56,200 square feet of rentable space suitable for a secure facility for female youth; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the document (the “Lease”) attached as Exhibit 1 to this ordinance, G4S Youth Services, LLC, proposes to lease space in the building for the use of a secure facility for female youth currently housed at New Visions Youth Development Center and;

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this lease be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Lease (Exhibit 1) is hereby approved and the Director of Finance or his designee is authorized to execute it on behalf of the Metropolitan Government.

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Madam President:

I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2012-145 by deleting Exhibit 1 attached thereto and substituting in lieu thereof the attached Exhibit 1, a Lease Agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and G4S YOUTH SERVICES, LLC.
