ORDINANCE NO. BL2012-133

An ordinance approving an agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through Metropolitan Social Services (MSS), and The Key Alliance (TKA) for the provision of financial, in-kind, and volunteer support for the Metropolitan Homelessness Commission (MHC).

WHEREAS, BL2011-917 approved the transfer of the Homelessness Commission to the Metropolitan Department of Social Services from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency; and,
WHEREAS, The Key Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation which has expressed interest in providing financial, in-kind, and volunteer support for the Metropolitan Homelessness Commission; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this agreement be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the agreement by and between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through Metropolitan Social Services (MSS), and The Key Alliance (TKA) for the provision of financial, in-kind, and volunteer support for the Metropolitan Homelessness Commission (MHC), attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and Metropolitan Social Services and the Homelessness Commission are authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That any amendments, renewals, or extensions of the terms of this agreement shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.

Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
