ORDINANCE NO. BL2011-5
An ordinance naming the Nashville Municipal Auditorium as the “Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium”.
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Auditorium Commission recently approved an agreement with the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum for lease of approximately 35,000 square feet of the basement floor level (the Exhibit Hall) of the Nashville Municipal Auditorium;
WHEREAS, a copy of the lease agreement between the Metropolitan Auditorium Commission and the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum is attached hereto as “Exhibit A”; and
WHEREAS, the lease agreement contemplates a “co-branding” of the facility as the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium; and
WHEREAS, the lease agreement further provides that such co-branding of the facility is subject to first receiving the required approval of the Metropolitan Council; and
WHEREAS, Section 13.26.010 of the Metropolitan Code provides that no building of the Metropolitan Government may be named except pursuant to an ordinance duly adopted by the Metropolitan Council; and
WHEREAS, information regarding the history of the Musicians Hall of Fame and its contribution to the Metropolitan Government is attached to this Ordinance as “Exhibit B”, as required by Section 13.26.020 of the Metropolitan Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Nashville Municipal Auditorium located at 417 Fourth Avenue North is hereby named the “Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium”.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
