ORDINANCE NO. BL2011-39

An ordinance approving a contract for services by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and United Road Towing for the administration and operation of the Metro Impound Lot.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, through the Purchasing Division of the Department of Finance, wishes to contract with United Road Towing for the administration and operation of the Metro Impound Lot; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has awarded this contract pursuant to a Request for Proposals; and,

WHEREAS, privatization contracts, as established by Section 4.12.095 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws, require approval by ordinance adopted by the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, Subsection 4.12.095(E) of the Metropolitan Code of Laws requires that the department seeking the privatization contract file a comprehensive written justification and cost-benefit analysis, a copy of which is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County that this contract be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and United Road Towing for the administration and operation of the Metro Impound Lot, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
