ORDINANCE NO. BL2011-10

An ordinance approving two agreements with Vanderbilt University for the participation and clinical training of medical students and residents in the Metropolitan Nashville Fire Department’s first responder and ambulance and rescue programs.

Whereas, the two agreements between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Fire Department, and Vanderbilt University, attached hereto, specify the parties’ benefits and obligations regarding the participation and clinical training of medical students and residents, respectively, in the Fire Department’s first responder and ambulance and rescue programs; and,

Whereas, approval of the Agreements will benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Agreements between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Fire Department, and Vanderbilt University, attached hereto and incorporated herein, are hereby approved.

Section 2. That any amendments to the terms of either of the Agreements must be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
