ORDINANCE NO. BL2011-908
An ordinance accepting a donation of one-hundred bicycles to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and Regions Financial Corporation for the purpose of promoting bicycling and active living.
WHEREAS, Regions Financial Corporation wishes to donate one-hundred bicycles valued at $18,825.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, for the purpose of promoting bicycling and active living; and,
WHEREAS, a copy of the donation letter from Regions Financial Corporation is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the donation of one-hundred bicycles valued at $18,825.00 by Regions Financial Corporation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, pursuant to the donation letter attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That the bicycles received by the Metropolitan Government pursuant to the attached donation letter shall be appropriated to the Metropolitan Public Health Department.
Section 3. That the Metropolitan Public Health Department is authorized to accept the bicycles for its use and benefit.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
