ORDINANCE NO. BL2009-575

An ordinance to amend the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map for The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by renaming Old River Road Pike between River Road Pike and River Road Pike just southeast of Biggs Road, as “Horton Hollow Lane” (Proposal No. 2009M-003SR-001).

WHEREAS, the property owners along this portion of right-of-way have submitted requests to Public Works to have the name of the street changed; and,

WHEREAS, the proposed request to change the name of this portion of the right-of-way has been submitted to and approved by the Metropolitan Planning Commission, and other relevant agencies of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, in accordance with Metropolitan Code § 13.08.015; and,

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County deems it necessary to change the name of the designated public right-of-way from Old River Road Pike to “Horton Hollow Lane” in order to improve public safety by eliminating the two different streets with effectively the same name; and,

WHEREAS, the community deems it appropriate that said name be changed.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map for The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (“The Map”), as enacted by Ordinance No. 2008-346, be and is hereby amended, as follows:

Old River Road Pike running off River Road Pike located approximately 550 feet southeast of Biggs Road is hereby renamed “Horton Hollow Lane”, all of which is more particularly described by lines, words and figures on the sketch which is attached hereto and made a part of this Ordinance as though copied herein.

SECTION 2. That the Director of the Department of Public Works be and is hereby authorized and directed, upon the enactment and approval of this Ordinance, to cause said change to be made on The Map as set out in Section 1 of this Ordinance, and to make notation thereon of reference to the date of passage and approval of this amendatory Ordinance.

SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
